The 2010 Pakistan floods began in July 2010 after heavy monsoon rains. It affected the Pakhtonkhwa, Punjab, Sindh as well as parts of Balochistan. It devastated millions of acres (hectares) of crops in Punjab (Country’s breadbasket), Sindh and Baloshistan. The United Nations estimates over 20 million people are suffering with over 160,000 square kilometers affected as a result of the flooding.
Pakistan Campus Crusade for Christ also took the challenge to help the flood victims. We raised the funds for relief work from local resources. At the same time Global Aid Net work was asked to help the flood victims in Pakistan. We received the relief goods from Gain USA, Germany and Korea.
The staff and volunteers worked hard to prepare and distribute the boxes of relief goods for victims. With the help of staff and volunteers more than 1,700 families were given the relief goods until now in Thatha, Jhampir, Sajawal, Nasirabad, Larkana and Charsada.
We have plan to distribute baby food for 3000 children in flood effected areas.
